Gisteren ging de eerste aflevering van de Duitse versie van Utopia van start met 3 miljoen kijkers. De Duitse zender SAT.1 heeft er voor gekozen om niet de naam Utopia maar Newtopia te gebruiken. Zo betraden gisteren de eerste 15 kandidaten het huis om een nieuw avontuur aan te gaan. Inmiddels heeft ook de eerste kandidaat Newtopia alweer verlaten.

Op zoek naar een betere wereld
Een jaar lang hebben zij de tijd om om hun eigen, andere en misschien beter samenleving te creëren. De kandidaten bezitten een lege schuur, een stuk onbebouwde grond, een paar vissen, vijfentwintig kippen en twee koeien. Daarnaast is er een aansluiting op elektriciteit, water en telefoon. Tot slot hebben de kandidaten 5.000 euro om de eerste maanden te overleven.
Acteur onder de kandidaten
In Duitsland wordt er nu al flink gespeculeerd over de deelnemende kandidaten. Ook onder de Duitse kandidaten blijkt namelijk een acteur aanwezig te zijn. Zo schrijft TVmovie.de dat Karolina (in de serie omschreven als hardcore veganist) in het echte leven een actrice blijkt te zijn.

Talpa en acteurs
Dat Talpa er niet vies van is om acteurs te gebruiken is in het verleden al meerdere keren gebleken. Maar goed Newtopia oftewel Utopia heet dan ook niet voor niets scripted reality. Newtopia is elke maandag tot en met vrijdag om 19.00 uur te zien op SAT.1 en 24/7 te volgen via Newtopia.de.
